What We Do
The Association is responsible for organising fundraising and plans fun events, local discounts, sports activities and student party nights. As well as fun, there is also the serious side. The SRC (Student Representative Council) meets each month to discuss issues and make decisions on behalf of all students. If you are interested in joining the SRC, you can stand as representative for your class. If you want to become more involved with the Student Association as a whole, why not stand as a candidate in the Executive Team elections? Positions on the Executive team include:
- President (elected before the summer break)
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Women’s Officer
- Men’s Officer
- Disabilities Officer
- Welfare Officer
- Sports and Entertainments Officer
- LGBT Officer
- Black Officer
The Student Association is also responsible for the Student Common Room which is located next to the Student Association office. This area, with seating and tables, is for use by any student during their break times and lunch times to come along, relax and meet others. There are 2 pool tables, a juke box and drinks machines on offer for a small fee.
The Student Representative Council
As well as fun, there is also the serious side. The Student Representative Council (SRC) meets each month to discuss issues and make decisions on behalf of all students. Executive Officers can also provide additional services to support students facing difficulties or problems. College students interested in joining the SRC can stand as Class Representative for your class group or if you want to become more involved, can stand as a candidate in the Executive Team & Student President elections!
The Student Association is an important part of the college life and all students are encouraged to take part.
