How do I get in?

You will need three relevant Standard Grades at General Level or a pass in a relevant NC course at SCQF Level 4 or equivalent.

A place on this course is subject to an interview process.

This course will introduce you to the exciting world of fashion.

You will benefit from learning a wide range of skills to prepare you for a higher level course.

What subjects will I be studying?

As the course progresses you will study the following subjects:

Fashion Design and Illustration
Surface Decoration
Garment Machine Sewing Skills
Garment Pattern Construction
Design and Manufacture
Media Studies: Fashion
Digital Photography
Fashion Styling
Fashion Merchandising and Retail Display
Core Skills
How will I be assessed?

You will need to be prepared to do some studying outwith your college time and you will be expected to carry out some assignments at home.

There are no written exams on this course but you will have continuous assessments as the course progresses.

How many days will I be in college?

Normally 3/4 days, however you will be given your timetable when you attend your Induction Day.

What can I do next?

Progression on to a wide range of relevant vocational courses at SCQF Level 6 or employment.

How do I fund my course?

You should apply for a Bursary. You can get a Bursary/EMA Application Pack from the Student Finance Office located in the Student Information Centre at Ayr Campus once you have been offered a place on the course.
