How do I get in?

You will need a minimum of one relevant Higher at Grade C or above, or a pass in a relevant NC course at SCQF Level 6 or equivalent. Applicants with appropriate experience or other training may be accepted without formal qualifications.

A place on this course is subject to an interview process.

Adult returners are also welcome and each applicant will be assessed on an individual basis for suitability.

Who is this course for?

If you are interested in pursuing a career in fashion then this creative, specialist course which covers 3 main areas of the Fashion industry may well be for you. Fashion Design, Fashion Production & Fashion Retailing.

You will develop skills across these 3 areas.

What subjects will I be studying?

During the course you will study the following subjects:

Fashion: Textile Technology
Garment Pattern Construction
Fashion: Commercial Design
Fashion Merchandising
Garment Machine Sewing Skills
Graded Unit

Options

Fashion Forecasting Research and Development, Digital Imaging, Marketing: An Introduction, Portfolio Production, Visual Merchandising, Basic Corsetry, Communications, Drape and Flat Pattern Making, Various Retail Based Subjects.

How will I be assessed? Continual class based assessments with one exam (Graded Unit) at the end of course.

How many days will I be in college?

Normally 3 days, however you will be given your timetable when you attend your Induction Day.

What can I do next?

Progression to a wide range of relevant vocational courses at SCQF Level 8 or progression to employment or university, which may include articulation arrangements with a variety of degree courses.
