You will need four relevant Standard Grades at Credit Level, or a pass in a relevant NC course at SCQF Level 5 or equivalent.
A place on the course is subject to an interview process.
Who is this course for?
This course is intended for third year students who plan on continuing with their studies to improve both their qualifications and experience to assist them in achieving their ultimate goal of being a great cook or chef.
What subjects will I be studying?
As the course progresses you will study the following subjects:
Practical Cookery Skills for a variety of complex dishes which will include the preparation, cooking and finishing of meats, poultry and fish dishes to a very high standard
How will I be assessed?
You will undertake ongoing practical assessments throughout the course and these will be recorded in SVQ Level 3 Professional Cookery Diary.
How many days will I be in college?
Normally 3/4 days, however you will be given your timetable when you attend your Induction Day.
What can I do next?
Progression on to a wide range of relevant vocational courses at SCQF Level 7 or employment.
How do I fund my course?
You should apply for a Bursary. You can get a Bursary/EMA Application Pack from the Student Finance Office located in the Student Information Centre at Ayr Campus once you have been offered a place on the course.
