You will need a minimum of one relevant Higher at Grade C or above, or a pass in a relevant NC course at SCQF Level 6 or equivalent. Applicants with appropriate experience or other training may be accepted without formal qualifications.
A place on this course is subject to an interview process.
This should not deter mature students from applying who may not have qualifications as they will be interviewed and considered on an individual basis.
Who is this course for?
As this course is a first level accounting qualification covering all aspects of core Financial and Cost/Management Accounting, Double Entry Book-keeping and preparation of Final Accounts, it is an excellent starting point for anyone who is considering a career in Accounting. It becomes an entry qualification for HND and some degree courses.
There is also a high emphasis on IT throughout the delivery of the course.

How will I be assessed?
You will experience a wide variety of assessment methods throughout the year. While most assessments are class based, home study will also be necessary.
There will be one exam (Graded Unit) at the end of the year.
How many days will I be in college?
Normally 3/4 days, however you will be given your timetable when you attend your Induction Day.
What can I do next?
HND Accounting
(SCQF Level 8) or progression to employment or university, which may include articulation arrangements with a variety of degree courses.
This will depend on your results and positive feedback from your lecturers as to your suitability.
You could also decide to look for a job in an accounting environment or progress to university.
