Entry Requirements are One Higher Grade pass, SVQ or National Certificate qualification. Candidates with appropriate core skills and/or work experience. A previous accounting qualification is not essential.

This course is offered as an evening class.

This course is aimed at the young trainee currently working or hoping to gain employment in an accounting function within an industrial or commercial organisation. It is a qualification in it’s own right, but it is also a preliminary qualification for HNC Accounting.

The full HNC qualification includes three Professional Development Awards which may be studied independently or as part of the HNC programme.

PDA Bookkeeping subject areas covered include:

Recording Financial Information (1 unit credit)
Accounting Software (Sage) (1 unit credit)
Sage Payroll (1 unit credit)

Successful completion of the PDA may allow candidates to progress to either HNC or to the industry professional examinations.
