at least one Higher level pass, with appropriate supporting passes at Standard Grade Credit in appropriate subjects, which should include science and/or technology or
an SVQ in Construction or a related discipline
Consideration may be given to those with other entry qualifications who demonstrate a realistic chance of success.
Who is this course for?
The course may appeal to apprentices who have achieved an Advanced Craft Award and wish to progress on a part-time or full-time basis.
The course may also be suitable for those seeking a career change or who have experience in the construction industry but no formal qualifications.
What subjects will I be studying?
The HNC Construction Management focuses on the key knowledge and skills required by a technician employed in a construction management role. You will develop study, research, analysis, planning and organisational skills. Working towards the HNC will also give you responsibility for your own learning and the ability to be flexible and work co-operatively with others.

How many days will I be in college?
Normally 1 day per week for Day Release students.
How will I be assessed?
Assessments will be ongoing throughout the year and you will complete a project which brings together all the elements of the course.
What can I do next?
The HNC Construction Management is designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills to allow you to gain employment in the Built Environment sector or to progress to a higher education.
A Construction Degree Programme in eg BSc Construction Management / Quantity Surveying / Building Surveying.
The HNC will also enable you to achieve commence achieving appropriate professional body recognition, in particular, from the Chartered Institute of Building.
