If you have completed SVQ Level 2 Business and Administration or in a workplace that offers considerable responsibility and autonomy within the administrative area then this qualification is for you!
Who is this course for?
SVQs are designed to be delivered in the workplace and are based on national standards developed by industry for industry. This ensures they are relevant for employers and valuable to individuals.
The SVQ 3 qualification offers people, already in the workplace, an opportunity to use their knowledge, understanding and skills of their job to achieve a recognised workplace qualification.
You should have considerable responsibility and autonomy and control or guidance of others in your current position.
What subjects will I be studying?
There are 3 Mandatory Units that must be completed by all candidates:
Plan How to Manage and Improve Own Performance in a Business Environment
Review and Maintain Work in a Business Environment
Communicate in a Business Environment
A further 5 units must be completed from the optional list, below are some examples:
Solve Business Problems
Support Other People to Work in a Business Environment
Supervise a Team in a Business Environment
Design and Produce Documents in a Business Environment
Improving Productivity using IT 3
Produce Documents in a Business Environment
Plan Change for a Team
How will I be assessed?
Portfolio building from real workplace materials.
How many days will I be in college?
You will be expected to be in college approximately one day per month.
What can I do next?
Once you have successfully completed the SVQ Level 3 Business and Administration you could progress onto the SVQ Level 4 or equivalent.
How do I fund my course?
You can apply to ILA Scotland (conditions apply) for funding to help with the cost of the course.
