Course Details

How do I get in?

You will need a minimum of one relevant Higher at Grade C or above, or a pass in a relevant NC course at SCQF Level 6 or equivalent. Applicants with appropriate experience or other training may be accepted without formal qualifications.

A place on this course is subject to an interview process.

Your application will need to be supported by two credible referees and successful applicants will be disclosed.

Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone who wishes to progress with their studies to acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical experience required to be a practitioner in the Health Care sector.

What subjects will I be studying?

During the course you will study the following subjects:

Physiology for Health Care
Positive Health Care for Individuals
Principles of Health Care Practice
Psychology and Sociology in Health Care

As there is a practical element to this course you will be expected to undertake a work placement as part of the course.

How many days will I be in college?

Normally 3/4 days, however you will be given your timetable when you attend your Induction Day.

How will I be assessed?

You will undertake a significant amount of practical placements as the course progresses along with continuous class based assessments.

There is a practical assignment which will be externally graded.

What can I do next?

Progression to employment or university, which may include articulation arrangements with a variety of degree courses.
